Hulu App Now Supports Autoplay For Chromecast

Posted: 14 May 2015 02:36 PM PDT

Hulu-ThumbIn order to reach maximum sedentary status while binge-watching a TV series, you can't be touching your phone every time an episode is over. I mean, this is just common sense. Hulu's Android app didn't support autoplay with Chromecast viewing, but now it does. Yay.

2015-05-14 15.51.46

There's a option in the settings to turn autoplay on or off, and now it also applies to videos streaming to the Chromecast. When an episode ends, the next one will start right up.

Samsung Gear Live disappears from Google Store

Posted: 14 May 2015 02:16 PM PDT

It looks like the end has come for Samsung's only Android Wear-powered smartwatch. The Gear Live, which broke the mold and used Android Wear instead of Samsung's usual Tizen platform, was a launch device for Android Wear and came at a very low price when the popularity of smartwatches was still climbing. It's an important part of Android Wear's history.

Unfortunately, the device has been removed from the Google Store. The direct link still exists, but the watch is no longer available for purchase. Whether Samsung is planning to release another Android Wear smartwatch is up in the air, but there are now plenty of competitors in the market. RIP Samsung Gear Live, you'll be remembered.

For the person that answers yes to all of these questions, the Smart Tennis Sensor is now available for purchase in parts of North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific.

Sony demoed off a prototype device two CES shows ago, and sometime after that a consumer-ready product launched in Japan.

However, a little digging around revealed that a previously seen Easter egg has finally been enabled. Also turning up is one of the most shocking features yet, an actual terminal.

Samsung’s Clear View cases reportedly scratching Galaxy S6 edge devices

Posted: 14 May 2015 01:33 PM PDT

It looks like Samsung has a bit of a problem on its hands. The official "Clear View" case for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is quite sexy, with a translucent front cover that allows the display to shine through with important info. But for Galaxy S6 edge owners, it's causing some serious issues.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge scratched

Many folks on XDA Developers are reporting that the case has badly scuffed up their devices. Despite the Gorilla Glass 4 coating the display, the case has managed to leave some nasty scuffs that are obviously not from regular use. It almost looks like the case traps dirt between itself and the glass, but Galaxy S6 owners aren't reporting a similar issue.

It's really unknown whether this is the fault of Samsung's case design, which when paired with a curved screen, may allow problems like this to occur. But if you're an owner of the Galaxy S6 edge, you may want to avoid the cases until Samsung responds to the situation. There are plenty of other good cases available!

Google Play Music website gets redesigned

Posted: 14 May 2015 12:47 PM PDT

Google Play Music is a great mobile service, but many use it on their computers too. I'm one of them, listening to All Access radio quite frequently. And months after the mobile app got an update with the new Material Design styling, the website is now getting the same love.

The new site design is beautiful, with buttons that are similar to the mobile app and a slide-out menu with a fancy animation. The artists page has every artist in a circle instead of a square, the transitions are new, all the animations are fantastic, and there is a new playlist menu. Instead of being its own screen like before, it's a pop-up list.

The changes to Play Music are not only very pretty, but they're very functional. The new pop-up menu is really useful and the entire interface is still easy to navigate. Head to the site to check out the new design!

Now you can view that same content directly inside the app. The posts won't look drastically different, but at least Google+ will stop passing you around like a basketball downcourt.

HTC Uploads Its 'Car' Driving Homescreen App To The Play Store

unnamed (2)At this point in my life, I never actually know where I am at any given moment. I simply trust Google Maps to tell me, and to get me home with its turn-by-turn driving directions. This kind of incredibly reckless lifestyle requires a decent car dock (like this one) and preferably a homescreen that's easy to use without taking your focus off the road. HTC includes just such an app on its One series phones, and now it's available in the Play Store.

It's close to a universal among those who are old enough that we all once owned a Nokia phone and played Snake. We didn't get those early cell phones to play games, but lo and behold, there was a simple and addicting game within. After many years, Snake's creator—Taneli Armanto—has teamed with Rumilus Design to revamp and re-release the classic with a little bit of modern flair. After their recent announcement, Armanto and Rumilus released the game to the Play Store yesterday.

Microsoft releases Hyperlapse for Android

Posted: 14 May 2015 09:18 AM PDT

After a long period of development, Microsoft has released its Hyperlapse app to let users create time lapses with their phone. The app is available for Windows Phone and Android, though the Android version does have a beta tag, indicating some remaining bugs in the app. Nonetheless, Hyperlapse is free for Android users and the results can be pretty stunning if you use it well.

Additionally, Microsoft has created Hyperlapse Pro app for PCs. The Pro version allows for more advanced editing and also allows you to hyperlapse existing videos.

Hyperlapse is quite welcome on Android, as Android users haven't had a great time lapse app for a while. The feeling worsened when Instagram released its own Hyperlapse app for iOS last year, but failed to bring it to Android. Now, Android users can create their own high-quality timelapses to share with friends. For more info, follow the source link below.
