YouTube's Tablet Subscription List Gets Filters

Posted: 13 Feb 2016 02:02 PM PST

Back in December, we reported on a new "pseudo-drawer" for the YouTube app on Android - replacing the horizontal list of avatars and activity indicators found on phones, the drawer gave users a scrollable vertical list of subscriptions - avatars and names - along with actual numbers.

Now, it looks like the drawer is getting some tweaks. First, it overlaps the UI when expanded now, rather than pushing everything to the side.

US Mobile Passport Now Supported At Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, The Third-Busiest In The World

Posted: 13 Feb 2016 12:32 PM PST

image (6)As far as US airports go, Dallas-Fort Worth isn't terrible. DFW is enormous, the third-busiest on the planet in terms of aircraft movements (behind O'Hare in Chicago and Hartsfield in Atlanta), largely due to being the central hub of American Airlines and an ideal mid-continental stopover for the United States and North America as a whole. Considering all of that, it's not all that bad... assuming you can get through the maze of city-wide construction in Fort Worth and actually make it to the damned place.

Could This Be The Specs For An LG G5 Lite?

Posted: 12 Feb 2016 08:37 PM PST

LG Logo

Despite multiple rumours and reports, there was no indication that LG would release a "Lite" version of their upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G5. However, that may very well be the case.

LG-LG-H840

According to a GFXBench benchmark result, specs for a never before seen LG H840 model have been revealed and they look very good, but not for a 2016 flagship. This may lead many to believe the company is actively working on a "midrange" smartphone based on the LG G5.

Specs include a moderately large 5.3-inch QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory and an 8MP rear camera.

All will be revealed on February 21st anyway so stay tuned for more.

LG V10 has a vulnerability in fingerprint security

Posted: 12 Feb 2016 03:39 PM PST

The LG V10 seems to have a significant security vulnerability not shared by other devices with fingerprint readers. The bad news is that someone can add their fingerprint to your V10 without a PIN. The good news is that you have to unlock it for them first.

If someone gets their hands on your locked phone, they won't be able to access it. But if you give it to them unlocked, to make a phone call or show off a photo for example, your phone is vulnerable. Normally, going into the fingerprint settings means entering your PIN.

But if you use a third party launcher and add an activity shortcut for adding fingerprints, you bypass the need for a PIN. You can add a fignerprint right away, letting you unlock someone's phone at a later time.

Luckily, there's an easy temporary fix. The LG V10 allows for a maximum of four fingerprints, so just fill all four slots and no one will be able to add another. This fix will work fine until LG patches the vulnerability.
