Bots. They're coming. They're not after world domination. They don't want to entrap mankind in order to guarantee our safety. They simply want to talk.

And they're talking, alright. They're talking on Telegram. They're coming to Skype. Google apparently has another messaging service in the works, and they're making plans to talk all over that.

Now they're ready to host conversations in Facebook Messenger. Lots of conversations. They will tell you the weather, peddle wares, and tell you the latest news.

HTC's Boost+ Device Cleaner App Hits The Play Store, Currently Only Compatible With HTC 10

HTC started testing its very own memory cleaner app just recently in the HTC Preview program, and now Boost+ has made its debut in the Play Store. Oh, it does more than clean memory. It locks apps, empties cache, and so on, but do you want any of it? Too bad, you can't use it anyway. This release appears to only be compatible with the new HTC 10, which essentially no one has yet.

We hope you haven't pre-ordered the HTC 10 yet, as HTC has just announced its HTC1008 promotional code which will get you a $100 discount on the new phone. At $699, the HTC 10 matches the price of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. But at $599, an unlocked HTC 10 is certainly appealing.

Let's also not forget that HTC One M9 customers are also eligible for an additional $100 rebate from HTC if they have owned their phone for 12 months and have not needed to use their Uh-Oh protection plan that came free with the phone.

Happy shopping!

Ustwo is no stranger to the Android Wear world—it has released several other watch face packs in the past, but this is the most configurable yet.

The app lets users choose from 'Classic' or 'Trio', which are then customizable with different hands, background colors, markers, and data.

Managing photos isn't a new problem. Smartphones may provide us with a camera in our pockets all the time, but we've had to wrestle with how to store photographs since we started taking them. We've crammed pictures into photo albums and transferred images off digital cameras using USB cables. These days we're trying to figure out the best way to manage photos on touchscreen devices that let us take and store so many.

T-Mobile’s HTC 10 gets unboxed in a helicopter above Las Vegas

Posted: 12 Apr 2016 09:42 AM PDT

We've all seen plenty of HTC smartphone unboxings over the years, but we have to admit that T-Mobile USA has taken the unboxing to a whole new level. Rather than sit at a desk and pull the HTC 10 phone out of its box, T-Mobile's @AskDes (T-Mobile's renowned Product Expert) took to the skies above Las Vegas, treating us to one of the most exciting unboxings we've ever experienced.

The video shows the phone, the usual array of warranty documentation and quick start guide and, of course, a Quick Charge 3.0 wall charger. While the unlocked HTC 10 does come with Hi-Res audio certified earphones, it's unclear if they will be included with the T-Mobile or other US carrier-branded versions of the HTC 10. T-Mobile will begin selling the HTC 10 in May.

netflixyNetflix updated its Android TV app today to version 3.0 with a new feature users have been wanting for quite some time. That feature is support for voice search. Prior to the update voice search on Android TV would not yield any results for Netflix content. That sucked considering a larger percentage of shows that many users watch are on Netflix. This guy was unhappy about it.

Opera Max Gets Optimized For Android Tablets

Posted: 12 Apr 2016 06:35 AM PDT

Opera Max isn't a browser, but it utilizes the company's well known data compression prowess to save you a lot of bandwidth and Megabytes, regardless of the app you're using to sip through your data. However, prior to today, Max was only optimized for phones and didn't work well, or at all, on tablets.

With version 1.7.5, Opera Max is adding a tablet layout that utilizes the bigger screen estate to display more of your monitored app usage, data compression results, and settings. You can enable Opera Max on your data network, your WiFi connection, or both.

HTC 10 officially announced

Posted: 12 Apr 2016 06:08 AM PDT

After months of waiting, the HTC 10 has officially been announced. As it turns out, the leaked image and rumors we've been sharing with you over the last few months were spot on. The HTC 10 is wrapped in an aluminum unibody shell with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on the front and a 5.2-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with a 30% improvement  in color accuracy and 50% improvement is touch responsiveness. The front-facing camera is equipped with an optical stabilized 5MP camera with an f/1.8 lens while the main camera on the back has a 12MP sensor, optical image stabilization f/1.8 lens, dual LED flash and laser auto focus. Powering the HTC 10 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor which is paired with 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, microSD card slot (which likely supports adoptive storage) and a 3,000 mAh battery which HTC claims can last up to two days (under moderate use). Like most other phones, the HTC 10 comes with NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz).

HTC has even taken its software to the next level by stripping out its own apps and replacing them with stock Google apps. The music player, calendar and gallery apps have been replaced with Google Play Music, Google Calendar and Google Photos. Sense is pretty much the same as it's always been, but there are Freestyle Layouts which allow you to customize the home screen as much as you want, even using stickers instead of the traditional app icons.

The price of the HTC 10 for Europe has not been unveiled, but HTC is promising that the phone will start shipping before the end of April in select markets. US residents can pre-order the Unlocked, AT&T and T-Mobile HTC 10 from HTC's site for $699 with an expected ship date of "early May."

Do you think HTC has done enough with the HTC 10 to get back in the game and compete with Samsung and LG?

Telegram 3.8 Introduces Redesigned Chat Screens And Bot API 2.0

Telegram has just received a huge update to version 3.8 with plenty of goodies for all its loyal users to enjoy. There's a pretty important new version of the Bots API, but before we get to that, the app also got redesigned chat screens and a couple of small functional changes too.

I don't use Telegram enough to be able to tell the difference between these new chat screens (in the image above this post) and the old ones, but the most apparent change to me is that the bubble's anchor is at the bottom now as opposed to slightly higher.

HTC 10 is already being displayed in retail stores

Posted: 12 Apr 2016 02:36 AM PDT

Those who live in Taiwan could walk into a local electronics store and check out the HTC 10 – ahead of today's official launch. We're sure someone is in deep water over the mistake, but it appears as if someone forgot to mention to the retail stores that the phone isn't being unveiled until midnight tonight in Taiwan.

While interested customers are being given the chance to play around with the phone, the HTC 10 isn't available for purchase quite yet. One rumor claims that the HTC 10 will go on sale on April 15 in Taiwan, but there's still no word on pricing. The HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 both sold for $650 at launch, but there's no guarantee that the HTC 10′s price will match that. Those looking to purchase the phone in the North America or Europe will likely have to wait even longer. Depending on which market you are in, the phone will be rolling out to store shelves between the end of April and the middle of May. We're not sure when specific service providers will start selling the phone, but you'll likely get your hands on one sooner if you purchase it directly from HTC.

For those of us who watch real football, the one played with feet and no helmets (what you Yanks call soccer), a well-known app has received an update. LiveSoccer, one of the most popular football apps in the Play Store, has launched version 3.0, bringing a host of new features, including user and club profiles, 'Predict Match results,' and contests, points, and leaderboards. Sadly the app is still holo, though.

The team profiles show useful information, such as season statistics, a calendar for upcoming matches, the latest scores, a full squad list, and any details, such as phone number or website.

Twitter Is Testing A More Material Version Of Its App With Tabs And A FAB

The Twitter app has gone through many, many incarnations. Not only have there been plenty of official redesigns, Twitter often tests UI tweaks using server-side switches. That's the case now as a new, more material interface appears to be rolling out to users (see above). It has tabs, a proper nav menu, and even a floating action button (FAB).

There are a few screens of the current app down at the bottom of the post, and as you can see, it barely even looks like an Android app.
