SharePoint has millions of users, but none of them are connecting to the service through a mobile app. That's because Microsoft hasn't yet released one. Users have had to settle for working through a browser instead.

That's now changing. Microsoft announced today that mobile apps are in the works for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Mobile. The iOS app will arrive first, with the other versions set to arrive in the second half of this year.

OneDrive Android App Gets 'Discover' View With Contextual Content

Today Microsoft had a bunch of OneDrive-related announcements to make, but what we care about is the Android app. Fortunately, the company didn't leave us hanging.

Microsoft has introduced a new Discover view that shows content considered relevant to the user. OneDrive guesses based on which files you open and the people you collaborate with. You won't just see your own creations. Microsoft will also recommend content that's trending, similar to Office Delve.

Google I/O App Updated For 2016 With A Map, Schedules, And More

Posted: 04 May 2016 12:29 PM PDT

io

With just a few weeks left until Google I/O 2016 kicks off, Google has dropped a new version of the I/O app into the Play Store. It includes a schedule of events, notifications, a map, and more. The mobile website has gotten very good this year, but the app still provides a few benefits.

You don't need to actually be at I/O to use the I/O app. It will ask on startup if you'll be attending the conference or following it remotely—the former will add a map item to the navigation menu.

T-Pain

It's one thing to hop behind the wheel and go where life takes you. It's another thing to go where T-Pain takes you. But now you have that option.

Waze has added T-Pain as its latest navigation voice option. His distinctive sound comes a few weeks after drivers started choosing to hear their instructions from Shaq.

To choose a voice, head to Sound > Voice Language under settings. There you will see that Colonel Sanders, too, is an option.

LG Stylo 2 launching on Cricket Wireless

Posted: 04 May 2016 09:55 AM PDT

Mother's Day is right around the corner and Cricket Wireless has announced that it will be launching the LG Stylo 2 to help celebrate the holiday. The kicker? The device isn't launching until May 13, meaning that your mother will have to wait a few days before her gift arrives. But if she's a real fan of the device, maybe she'll be okay with that.

As far as specs go, the LG Stylo 2 is nothing too special, but it fits in as a decent mid-range options. The device packs a 5.7-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage plus microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3000mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Of course, the Stylo 2 also features its namesake, a built-in stylus. This can be used for writing, drawing and a whole variety of other uses. LG has also given the Stylo 2 a split-screen mode to enhance productivity even further.

Pricing is set at a very affordable $169.99 and Cricket Wireless is also offering a $50 credit for those who switch from another carrier. And if you're switching from T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless will offer you a $100 credit.

Android Distribution Numbers Out For May, Android 6.0 Marshmallow Now At 7.5%

Posted: 04 May 2016 09:07 AM PDT

android_dist_may2016

May the fourth be with you as Google has now updated their Android Distribution Numbers for this month. These numbers are updated by Google at roughly the start of every month for developers to look at so they can gen eralize what version of Android their potential install base is running and act upon it.

As of May 2nd, Android 6.0 Marshmallow now sits at 7.5%, jumping almost 3% since last month. I presume this is solely due to all the Marshmallow OTAs being released by BlackBerry, Samsung and Sony. Lollipop and KitKat continue to decline steadily as they now sit at 35.6% and 32.5% down by 0.2% and 0.9% respectively.

The story doesn't change for all the other versions too, with the only exception being Android 2.2 Froyo which remains at 0.1%

GoPro's Quik Video Editor Comes Out Of Beta, Available For Everyone Now

Posted: 04 May 2016 07:40 AM PDT

gopro-quick

GoPro acquired iOS video editing apps Replay and Splice at the beginning of March and was quick to develop an Android version of Replay, which it renamed Quik and released as a beta a couple of months ago. Now the app is shedding the beta tag and getting its first official public release for everyone on the Play Store.

Quik lets you select photos and videos from your device's storage or Google Photos library, then it analyzes them and automatically trims the best moments from videos and focuses on faces to reframe photos.

Vimeo 2.2. Introduces Offline Video Caching And Playback

Posted: 04 May 2016 05:36 AM PDT

vimeo-offline

Sometimes app developers surprise us with a big push of new versions and features after leaving us in the cold for the longest time. The Vimeo team, for example, had an ugly mess of an app for years until an update to version 2.0 last December completely rewrote it from scratch and made it several folds better. That was followed by the addition of Chromecast support in version 2.1 in February, and now another update to 2.2 is introducing offline videos.

Ebay 5.0 Brings A Material Design Overhaul, Better Navigation, And Related Items [APK Download]

Posted: 04 May 2016 02:36 AM PDT

ebay-5-md

When eBay released its version 4.0 interface revamp back in September of last year, I was slightly disappointed. The app looked like a mishmash of design styles and ideas that didn't really belong on any platform but that were trying too hard to not offend anyone either on Android or iOS. It lacked life and felt clinical, with so much grey and white and nary another color. It also removed access to your personal lists, an omission that I still despise because I am very picky about organizing my items in differentiated and clear lists.

Gangfort Is The 2D Platformer Version Of Team Fortress 2 You Never Knew You Wanted

Posted: 04 May 2016 02:06 AM PDT

image (3)If you're a PC gamer, odds are that you have at least a passing familiarity with Team Fortress 2. Valve's team-based shooter has become nothing less than iconic since its release almost a decade ago, thanks to impressive balance, a fun atmosphere, and a never-ending supply of updated content. We'll probably never see a full version of the game for Android (since Valve isn't really in the game-making business these days), but an indie developer has given us the next best thing: a 2D platformer version.

Everything Is Awesome Now That The LEGO Movie (The Video Game) Is Available In The Play Store

image (9)Far be it from me to criticize a multi-billion-dollar company for falling behind in their release schedule but... really, Warner Bros? The LEGO Movie came out more than two years ago, and you're just now getting around to releasing an Android version? Even back when video games ran on machines with the power of a calculator, they generally got around to releasing the movie tie-in within a month or so of the theatrical release.

Posted: 03 May 2016 04:34 PM PDT

Jesus wants a hugYesterday Brazil made headlines by once again blocking the function of mega-popular SMS replacement service WhatsApp for 72 hours. The reasons were... complicated. Apparently. We don't actually know the reason - the purpose of the ruling has been sealed by the court in the state of Sergipe which issued it. But fear not, Brazilian WhatsApp users: you now have access to the service once again, thanks to some quick work on the part of the WhatsApp and the ruling of an appeals court.
