Possible designs of upcoming Google Android Wear smartwatches leak

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:35 PM PDT

Rumor has it that Google is working on two Android Wear smartwatches of its own, and now we get to see a potential design leak. Keep in mind that these designs may be outdated, may be changed at any time, and are recreations of the designs that Android Police saw. It's possible that the final product will look different.

The bigger of the two is codenamed Angelfish and features a large body with a huge crown and two small buttons on either side of it. The watch will be standalone and will have both GPS and LTE connectivity. It lacks the flat tire found on the Moto 360, which is a nice change.

Swordfish is significantly smaller, thinner, and sleeker than Angelfish. It has a black gap between the body and the display, which may house sensors. This makes the display slightly smaller than it looks. It features an oddball crown and no extra buttons. Unfortunately, it won't have LTE, GPS, and potentially not even a heartbeat sensor. It might be a budget watch, hopefully cheap enough to undercut the current Android Wear manufacturers.

It's not known what names these watches will be sold with. Nexus devices are usually made by other companies, so the Pixel brand would make more sense for them because they're Google's own hardware. All we know is that they will launch with Android 2.0 and Google Assistant. What do you guys think of these watches? Do you look forward to what Google has in store for us? Leave a comment!

Refurbished Moto 360 2nd Gen for half price on eBay

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 02:35 PM PDT

The second generation Moto 360 is a great smartwatch, but it's almost a year old now. It's getting time for Motorola to replace it, so it's the perfect time for some sales to move the old stock.

An eBay seller has a great deal on a few models of the Moto 360. The 42mm model is available in men's black with black leather and women's rose gold with blush leather, priced at $159.99. The 46mm model is available in black with black metal and silver with cognac leather and is priced at $179.99.

Both prices are around half off the original prices, so you're definitely getting a big deal. Just be warned that something new is likely around the corner: Motorola is already out of stock of the 46mm model. But for these prices, it's hard to care.

Photos of prototype Samsung Galaxy Note 7 leak

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 01:39 PM PDT

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is coming soon, with less than a month until the expected August 2 announcement. And the closer we get to the announcement date, the more detailed leaks we will be getting. It's tradition, after all.

The newest leak includes photos of a prototype Galaxy Note 7. The images are relatively clear and give us a good look at the extra sensor up top, said to be an iris scanner that will be a much improved security measure over fingerprint readers.

The device is definitely looking good, especially in this deep black color. It also supports the rumor that there won't be a flat version. This is just a prototype, so some small tweaks might be made between now and the announcement, but this is a good look at what we might get. Leave your thoughts down in the comments!

HTC Desire 10 tipped to launch later this year

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 09:44 AM PDT

HTC earned plenty of attention with its HTC 10 flagship smartphone earlier this year, but it looks like they want to grab some additional eyeballs with a new mid-range device coming to their Desire line later this year.

According to Evan Blass (@evleaks), HTC has plans to launch a "Desire 10″ later this year. Blass later added that he's heard the device will launch by the end of the third quarter, but any additional details about the upcoming handset are unknown. If the launch window is true, we could see the Desire 10 be announced sometime in September.

The Desire 10 could offer a few design choices similar to the HTC 10, but it's still unknown what specifications the handset will bring to the table. Still, if you're in the market for a new mid-range device or expect to be later this year, it might be worth waiting to see what HTC launches.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 is its newest flagship processor

Posted: 11 Jul 2016 08:49 AM PDT

Qualcomm is familiar with powering high-end smartphones and tablets with its flagship processors, and that will probably continue with its latest premiere chipset.

Qualcomm has made the Snapdragon 821 processor official, and it's very likely it'll be used for the newest batch of flagship smartphones coming down the pike. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821 features a quad-core Kryo CPU that can reach speeds up to 2.4GHz, a 10 percent performance increase over the Snapdragon 820.

Interestingly enough, Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 821 will "compliment" the Snapdragon 820, and that the 820 won't be going anywhere just yet.

The Snapdragon 821 could show up on smartphones and tablets as early as the second half of 2016, but which devices will use the new chipset isn't known just yet.

We often see deals on Carcassonne on the Play Store, but never has the price dropped below the 2 dollars mark. That is until today. It's down to EUR 0.10 in France, Spain, Italy, and Germany, GBP 0.10 in the UK, and AUD 0.20 in Australia.

Carcassonne usually costs $4.99 or thereabout in the different currencies mentioned above, so this is a significant saving on the original price.
