Google reportedly prepping Allo for launch this week

Posted: 18 Sep 2016 03:39 PM PDT

Google Allo has been hotly anticipated since its announcement at Google I/O, but several months later, fans are starting to get restless waiting for Google's new communications app. There have been rumors and teases for quite a while, but nothing concrete. It seems as though we may be nearing the finish line, however. Reliable leaker @evleaks has revealed that Allo will launch as soon as this week.

This is certainly good news for all interested parties, and we're looking forward to checking out the new features of Allo, which include WhisperShout type size, drawing on photos and, most exciting of all, full integration of Google Assistant. This allows for incredibly accurate response suggestions and the ability for users to message @google to ask questions, play games and more.

We'll keep you updated on the development and launch of Allo.

For you power users out there, it also boasts drag and drop, FTP/WebDAV/SMB client support, batch file management, and much more. Solid Explorer has just been bumped to version 2.2, and there's a lot to get excited about.

The biggest feature is file encryption. Solid Explorer now allows you to encrypt any given file and folder with AES256 encryption.
